I wrote about the three recycling bins the other day, which now stand in my small front garden.

But after a chat with a friend about what goes in where, and then going shopping, I had an idea. The UK government are the ones behind this of course, pushing us to recycle to meet recycling goals the EU has set. So, if they’re responsible for getting this done, why not pass laws making all consumer goods carry a symbol telling us what bin the wrapping or material goes into?

With all the nonsense they put on packaging nowadays anyway, with the carbohydrates, the fats, etc., what is another small symbol – a green, grey, or black bin?
