Now that’s what I like to hear – a cheaper iPhone! Selling for $600+ in the US, we don’t even have them here in the UK yet, but there is news that a cheaper version based on the iPod Nano is in the works. No doubt we’ll have to wait a year for it.
This all being said mind you, there is competition to the iPhone in the form of the HTC Elf. Touch-based like the iPhone, it’s cheaper, it’s smaller, and it’s over here. Yay! See some pictures of the HTC Elf »
I do hope that they make a smaller iPhone though, because it generally has more panache, and it was the first to come out giving it the all important wow factor. I have a Video iPod of my own, and I don’t think I would buy any of its competitors’ similar products, just for that reason. Given that the new iPhone would probably cost about £350 here, plus the monthly plan average of £35, I do hope that a smaller (and substantially cheaper) version comes out.
