Sounds like a pretty nice deal right? So basically anyone earning up to £68,000 a year keeps a little more in their pockets. According to Sir Menzies Campbell those in the top bracket, those using the most carbon, those living the high life above and beyond, will pay to make up the difference. That’ll be about £13.5Bn, not much when it’s all added up.
Again, sounds good to me! I -WISH- I earned more than £68,000, hell I wish I even earned that, or half that! Lowering the lower band to 16p out of the pound has “wonderful” stamped all over it!
So to my way of thinking, it might be useful if they take power in the next general election…
