James was my close friend for over 20 yrs. I have been at the hospital for 2 days. It seems he passed away last nite.
I am still trying to verify this. James was the gentlest person I know,as massive as he is.

I knew and watched James as a Amateur boxer many years ago, he was always so gentle, considerate & polite.
With his height, weight and immense power…he should have become one of British boxings greatest……but alas….I truly believe he was always afraid of the potential damage he could cause and therefore never really displayed his full potential……..MAY PEACE BE WITH YOU, JAMES.

I knew James for some years & first met him when he came into my former office in Wembley to rent a car,we struggled to find one big enough for him but got there in the end.
I myself was born in Paddington & know the club that James was a big part of.
My biggest memories of James is that he was always polite in whatever he needed to express,that’s what makes this incident unbelievable.
James has been in my thoughts all this week & it’s such a shame that it has come to this.

i only spoke to him last week- i am devastated over this utter tradgedy. he was a very warm hearted person who had time for everyone-one of the lords of life. i salute you “sir james”.r.i.p.

I knew James well and I cant belive…. it is like a nightmare. i dont know any person who could say any bad word about James. He was always saying that my jokes makes his work nice and funny, helped when i was sad… he last visited me home few weeks ago noone thought then that it was the last time we”ve met.
He loved his children the most in the world… He couldnt wait sun, hot beaches … Africa…
One day he said that he is such a strong man that it would be dificult for anybody to hurt him and that the only one thing which can kill him is a gun. Unfortunaly he was right. Ill NEVER FOGRT U JAMES MY FRIEND

Can anyone tell me please where and when was James’s funeral

Funeral is on September 10th.

Thank you to everyone who has written so kindly about my brother.

I would also like to thank everyone for their kind words and support from myself and on behalf of our two children. We are still struggling to come to terms with that our future has been so cruly snatched away just as life was getting easier. His kindness to others are now being repaid by the kindness shown back to his children an me. God Bless you all!

I loved James dearly, and he will be greatly missed in the world. May God bless him and his family. xxx
