You’ll need headphones for this.

Paddy passed this along to me earlier tonight, after mentioning it during the day. What an amazing experience! Definately shows what can be achieved using sound with a little bit of patience (I’m sure it took him some time to get that right).

I’ve embedded the but you can also use that link.

Not that I ‘listen’ for them specifically. I don’t.

The problem is that where I work, in the second bedroom, is where the neighbours seem to have their screaming matches. As I told Kerry, what’s worse is that there is a two or three brick wall between us, quite thick. I can’t exactly smash on the wall as they’d barely hear it over their many octave screaming!

*sigh*

Nothing like truth in advertising is there?

The other day at work the management had decided (presumably as an experiment, to try something new) to try a new type of adhesive for the signs that had to be put up on location. So a new product was purchased. The name of this product was, unlikely as it may seem, Sticks Like Shit.

Wonderful name, especially if you know british culture and the lingo. The usual double-take chorus of ‘what did you say?’ comes about, the raucous laughter as you realise that this isn’t a joke but a real product. Rather like hearing of a condom called a French Tickler, you know the hilarity that our wonderful language can cause.

Sadly though, Sticks Like Shit turned out to be more like Sticks Like Diarrheoa. Well maybe not that bad, but it takes longer to harden and stick things than say, Lourd, which we were already using. I just thank god it didn’t smell like the name suggests…

We have actually had some decent weather this weekend. Not that I actually noticed, I’ve been working, but I can still see outside.

The forecast rain that was supposedly coming here, or rather more to the point, to Gloucestershire, did not arrive. The floodwaters have started to recede. Noah can go home. I saw in the paper somewhere on Saturday that some guy had built a fairly life size replica of the ark (and no, I’m not talking about Evan Almighty). Perhaps he had some divine guidance?

So back to the working week, rain, overcast, clouds. The usual…

Funny thing just happened. I thought I’d check out , see what’s happening, and then I got this message on the browser window:

technorati_down.jpg

Weird eh? Never seen that before! Here’s that message up close:

Blackout!
Our power is down. Technorati will be back up soon.

Yay! I want one!

Mind you, I think I want the $80M first.

Seems a bit much for a luxury submarine, but then again they do start off at around $12M, so you can get the cheap version if you feel like it, and you want something left over for your own estate and stable of fast cars, private jet etc.,

Anyway if you want to see the list of luxury subs that U.S. Submarines makes, and you have the few million required, check it out.

sign_of_marriage.jpg

I had to laugh when I came across this, thanks to Popurls. It was listed as the International symbol of marriage! How apropos. Considering I work at a sign company I might try and get this one made up as a joke!

The European Grand Prix was a bit of wash-out eh?

At times right when it was raining at the start it looked more like a bumper-car rally, with a bit of english weather (flooding) thrown in. Lots of drivers skidded off the first curve and the safety car only just made it out without being rear-ended.

Nevertheless it was an exciting race, good to watch. More interesting than someone at pole position always winning.

Looks like England is taking yet another battering from the weather. So much for summer this year.

This morning all you could see was this massive cloud bank spreading upwards from the south and coming northwards across the midlands. Well, it’s here. And it’s been raining ever since I got home from work at 3:15pm. That’s 5 hours now.

Paddy said that the river was starting to rise near him, and it’s pretty shallow there as it is…

Update, 10pm: the air-raid siren just went off. Flooding ensuing. Yes Mac, rain = england, england = rain. :|

Today, our Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, announced in the Commons that he was drafting plans (or at least talking about it, taking it ‘under advisement’) to move from a Class C drug to a Class B drug.

Dumb. So very dumb.

Learn a lesson from the United States, Gordon. Their prisons are overflowing with drug users, a lot of whom use cannabis and nothing heavier than that. Use your brain – cannabis user numbers have been dropping steadily for several years now…

If you really wanted to do something about drugs, Gordon, you’d make the two worst drugs in the world illegal – tobacco and alcohol.
