Tonight on the news the newsreader said that “we” (that’s us, the taxpayers) now owned Northern Rock. We were its new shareholders.

So I’m wondering – where can I sell my shares to someone? Supposedly we’re funding them to the tune of £2,000 per taxpayer, and I think I’d like the money instead of the shares, if you don’t mind. Who can I write to at the Treasury to get the money?
