We have a scourge in this country, a scourge of yobs that wander our streets in drunken stupors smashing and trashing anything in their way. Ok, well maybe not that bad. But it is getting bad in some areas.

The news has been awash with stories of how the politicians are going to increase the taxes on booze, namely foreign beers/ciders, and spirits. Local brews that are low in alcohol won’t be affected.

The bad part about this? How does it stop people buying booze for the kids outside?

The good part about this? Long overdue, booze is very cheap in the UK.

Other solutions that the idiotic politicians should really consider:

  • Raise the drinking age to 21; it works in the US, I should know, I was carded there when I first moved to the states.
  • Make enforcement a reality in the UK; if a store owner is caught selling booze to under-21′s, fine them, imprison them, shut their shop down, confiscate their goods.
  • Police on the streets; yeah I know, a bloody rarity here, coppers walking the beat are a thing of the past but if they did, and saw youths with booze, charge their parents and/or make the kids do community service.
  • Chain gangs; welllll, maybe not that harsh, but something like it.
