Apparently, at least according to what my brother told me the other day, there has been an accident at the Conisholme wind farm. One or two of the wind turbines have had accidents, one with the blade coming completely off, another one smashed to bits too (probably from the first’s blade).
We know these things happen of course, just like accidents with any hardware, just glad that no-one got hurt. Still, better than having a nuclear power station accident, isn’t it?
Just a bit of an update to this. After I’d written this article originally, I saw in the online glad rags and on the news, about how people were saying that this was all caused by a UFO. They’d “seen” them all over the place, and have been seeing them for 6 months or so.
First off, no-one I’ve talked to has seen any, and no-one has heard of any. So where they dig these people up is beyond me. A few months ago Paddy thought he saw some lights in the sky only to find out later on they were those chinese fire lanterns. So if people saw things in the sky it could be that, or the fireworks that the Independent was reporting.
Seriously though, UFO’s? There’d be wreckage, wouldn’t there? If the government had been involved, we’d all have seen it (Conisholme is in the middle of a flat plain, you can see clearly for miles from the edge of the Wolds).
Here’s a video segment from ITN:

I don't care about what they look like, as they're kinda cool to watch. They can get quite noisy, ...
