Given that this is one of the most important things in our lives, present for let’s say half of it (generously), why doesn’t our moon have a name?
Perhaps it does – can anyone tell me if it does?

Well you can pull out the old Latin book and call it LUNA.
but other than that, no, there is no name. Just as Earth is called Terra, and the Sun is called Sol.
