I think that Rupert Murdoch‘s latest announcement that the News Corp.’s network will soon have to start charging for content, is one of the worst mistakes he could have made.

Surely he makes money with advertising, and plenty of it. Just because there’s a downturn in the world economy does not make it acceptable to the web browsing public that content suddenly needs paying for.

Frankly I think that those websites that won’t be charging for content will be the ones that end up winning out of this. BBC for example. Poor old Rupert
