Browsing through the twitter feed first thing in the morning, with a cup of tea, as you do, I found this article about a rat found in Lincolnshire. Is that a rat? Sure big enough, but can they grow that big?

I can’t say I come across many, the only experience is when I was a kid up at the farm one summer. It seemed big but then I wasn’t so to adult eyes it was probably a mouse.

I know this sounds strange but I’ve never really used rss readers. I always like visiting a site, probably a quirk of the job or something.

So I’ve been trying to force myself to use a reader, mostly because I forget sites. And yes, clearly, forget to bookmark them too.

Here I was again though, thinking about it then I realised I hadn’t read blogs in a while, and had forgotten to use the reader. Either I’m going batty, getting old (not that old though, ok), or just busy. Must be busy I suppose…

The downside as I see it: I just visited Mel‘s blog post.

Honestly. WTF?

Mascots? They look like something a 4-year old did. How the f*** do they represent the UK?

I find myself in that really uncomfortable position of really wishing I was in a dream, and at the same time, wishing I wasn’t British. Unbelievable.

The Olympics are supposed to be something that gets people together so perhaps it’s done that, in that we all hate the logo, the mascots, equally. If you see that link I posted, and look at the comments, you’ll see what I mean.

Someone at the bottom said, ‘WTF? ok… it could have been worse‘ How? I mean, perhaps two steaming turds might have been a worse set of mascots, but given the current situation our country is in, it would be accurate at least. These things, well I can’t say I see them representing droplets of metal as the article says.

A quick joke before bedtime.

I was in the pub and they had a pub quiz. The question was, where on a women’s body is the curliest hair? Strangely I got it wrong – apparently the answer is Africa!

Why would russian spammers add a western email address to send their cyrillic email to?

Idiots.

Humans think they’re the most intelligent species on the face of the planet because they can wipe out any other species.

Dolphins think they’re the most intelligent species on the face of the planet for exactly the same reason…

The reason I posted this is because of this article I read on the Times Online site:

Dolphins have been declared the world’s second most intelligent creatures after humans, with scientists suggesting they are so bright that they should be treated as “non-human persons”.

It’s about time, I mean they’ve saved countless humans, we know they talk to each other, they can solve complex problems, they feel pain, what more proof do we need?

I got this popped through the post and was just about the throw it away, because I hate that kind of trash mail. After looking at it for a minute, not reading the main text, but seeing the “1 in 3 people die”, I thought, I wonder if it’s the kid, the guy, or the muslim woman?

Ok ok I know, not very PC, but hilarious nonetheless!

It seems our media is overrun by the constant PC anti-muslim-ness. Hence my first response…

If insurance companies can decline to pay out over Acts of God – shouldn’t they be forced to prove the existence of God in the first place?

I twittered this the other day and it really started to grate on me when I read something in the newspaper about some women claiming on a house fire only to have the insurance company fight it because she didn’t declare a £150 ticket, or something miniscule like that.

Does anyone else think that (Colonel) Gaddafi has had plastic surgery? He looks like a plastic toy whenever you see him, and when he talks his lips barely move. I wonder if he has a little button on the back of his head…

Definately something going on around his eyes, you barely see them anymore, shifty bugger. And judging from his latest nonsense at the UN, it would seem he’s getting on a bit in years.

I thought that this was beautiful. Having lived in the US, and having watched Fox News, I know firsthand how biased it is, and often, how wrong it is.

I ran across this on LiveLeak and thought it was worth reposting. It’s about Amsterdam, Fox News (Bill O’Reilly to be precise) blasted the city as a cesspool of corruption, a bad place to bring up kids, etc., A film-maker made this short movie, thought you should see it.

God Bless the freedom of speech.
