I was seriously thinking about upgrading my computer that I work on. And of course, given that I read voraciously, I am all agog about solid state drives, or at least I keep telling myself that. (Ooh yeah I want one of those, you know what I mean)

The past few years have been an era of expanding hard drives (now you can get 3TB drives!), but the solid state drives, despite what we have heard, are going a bit slower. I mean, you can get a 1TB SSD but the price is a bit high (£1622).

I think I’ll wait.

Of course, I could wait for the flying cars they promised up forty years ago…

… not hang up a phone call at a public phonebooth, but just let the phone go?

At least, that’s what the movies portray. So the question remains, why? Why not hang the phone up? Their fingerprints would already be on it, assuming they’re not wearing gloves, so what’s the big deal about hanging the phone up?

I’m not necessarily one to say that technology is a thing of beauty, I’m more interested in the functionality of things and what the capabilities are. But I have to say that the iPad 2 really is impressive.

Never mind the fact that it’s an improvement on existing technology, There’s still been a lot of thought that went into it and for me at least, I’m duly impressed.

Now if only I could get it to make a cup of coffee!

And oh yeah for some reason the categories list doesn’t scroll in the iPad, bummer.

It’s finally arrived.

God I feel like a kid at Christmas. This thing though, to be honest, doesn’t seem much better than my old faithful.

I’ve had old faithful for four and a bit years now, a Philips shaver, great model. All that time on the same blade, nothing has been repaired on it, still runs like a champ. Must be a record or something. So I spent some time just now cleaning and packing old faithful away in the wash bag, for travel.

This new one though, it’s very strange – does product endorsement by stars actually work? The packaging is about F1 driver Rosberg and his Philips shaver. I’m so happy for him, but I think he should stick to driving cars.

The new Philips, yes another Philips, seems lighter and not so sturdy as old faithful. I should try one of those shaving tests, one side of my face with the old shaver and the other side with the new shaver!

We (five of us) went to the local Go-Karting track on friday afternoon. For £20 you can spend 30 minutes chasing each other around the track and pretend to be F1 drivers (well, Paddy probably did).

What a laugh! I have to say, the best £20 I’ve spent in ages! Of course it started to rain and although we wore waterproofs, I was soaked to the bone. I think a couple of the others were too, but nothing that a pint at the local won’t fix!

Heeeeyyyyy! Yeah I know, Mel, Mac, it’s just been one of those kinds of weeks/months. We’re working another hour a day at work, so it’s just getting a bit more difficult to squeeze everything into the day. And to cap that off I haven’t been motivated lately, or I’ve been doing other things that just tend to take up the time.

But I am back! I’ll be back on more for sure.

Funny thing happened to me tonight. After dinner, I went to get changed and I pulled the curtains together. The whole shebang, curtains, railing, fixings, screws and all, came crashing down on top of me. It was just one of those end of the day moments when you’re stood there thinking, ‘Perfect’.

Browsing through the twitter feed first thing in the morning, with a cup of tea, as you do, I found this article about a rat found in Lincolnshire. Is that a rat? Sure big enough, but can they grow that big?

I can’t say I come across many, the only experience is when I was a kid up at the farm one summer. It seemed big but then I wasn’t so to adult eyes it was probably a mouse.

I know this sounds strange but I’ve never really used rss readers. I always like visiting a site, probably a quirk of the job or something.

So I’ve been trying to force myself to use a reader, mostly because I forget sites. And yes, clearly, forget to bookmark them too.

Here I was again though, thinking about it then I realised I hadn’t read blogs in a while, and had forgotten to use the reader. Either I’m going batty, getting old (not that old though, ok), or just busy. Must be busy I suppose…

The downside as I see it: I just visited Mel‘s blog post.
