A quick joke before bedtime.

I was in the pub and they had a pub quiz. The question was, where on a women’s body is the curliest hair? Strangely I got it wrong – apparently the answer is Africa!

Dolphins think they’re the most intelligent species on the face of the planet for exactly the same reason…

The reason I posted this is because of this article I read on the Times Online site:

Dolphins have been declared the world’s second most intelligent creatures after humans, with scientists suggesting they are so bright that they should be treated as “non-human persons”.

It’s about time, I mean they’ve saved countless humans, we know they talk to each other, they can solve complex problems, they feel pain, what more proof do we need?

I got this popped through the post and was just about the throw it away, because I hate that kind of trash mail. After looking at it for a minute, not reading the main text, but seeing the “1 in 3 people die”, I thought, I wonder if it’s the kid, the guy, or the muslim woman?

Ok ok I know, not very PC, but hilarious nonetheless!

It seems our media is overrun by the constant PC anti-muslim-ness. Hence my first response…

If insurance companies can decline to pay out over Acts of God – shouldn’t they be forced to prove the existence of God in the first place?

I twittered this the other day and it really started to grate on me when I read something in the newspaper about some women claiming on a house fire only to have the insurance company fight it because she didn’t declare a £150 ticket, or something miniscule like that.

Does anyone else think that (Colonel) Gaddafi has had plastic surgery? He looks like a plastic toy whenever you see him, and when he talks his lips barely move. I wonder if he has a little button on the back of his head…

Definately something going on around his eyes, you barely see them anymore, shifty bugger. And judging from his latest nonsense at the UN, it would seem he’s getting on a bit in years.

I thought that this was beautiful. Having lived in the US, and having watched Fox News, I know firsthand how biased it is, and often, how wrong it is.

I ran across this on LiveLeak and thought it was worth reposting. It’s about Amsterdam, Fox News (Bill O’Reilly to be precise) blasted the city as a cesspool of corruption, a bad place to bring up kids, etc., A film-maker made this short movie, thought you should see it.

I know I may be one of those few people (the intelligent, sophisticated, discerning ones) that don’t like Big Brother, but I am thanking God that they have finally seen the light (and by they I mean the viewing public) and the TV bosses are going to be ending it.

The End of Big Brother. Sounds like an Orwellian celebration, and I will certainly buy a bottle of champagne to celebrate it.

What lunacy made people want to see ten or twelve mad people locked in a house together showing off the worst traits imaginable, is beyond me. But the end should have come sooner. It never was reality in any sense of the word, since the majority of us are sane, have jobs, and treat other people with some decency.

Having the week off I’m getting lots of work finished up and projects wrapped up for the autumn, mostly because I have new projects coming up and also because I want to refine a few things that I already have going.

After starting the Thesis Themes site I noticed a url pop up in the stats from Hootsuite, which I’d never heard of. I went there, got an account, upgraded, and voila I’m exploring the finely-tuned world of advanced twittering. What a wonderful website! Well put together, and way more information than you’d probably need, but useful nonetheless, kinda like Twitter in a way…

So I just wanted to say what a great site, keep up the good work Hootsuite!

Smartphones are all the rage and to be hones with you, it’s a bloody good job they are smart, because without all that technology … I just would forget to recharge it! This thing beeps at me when it’s getting low on power.

Honestly though, can you think of a time before mobile phones? God what a horror that would be! Not being able to phone someone or even text someone when you wanted, or not having a camera with you at any time. These days of course, GPS and maps too.

So to all those people who took the plunge and bought massive bricks in the 80’s because it was cool, you know who you are, god bless you!
