Yesterday it said on the BBC weather site, and the Met site, there was the possibility of a few snow flurries in the evening and overnight.

It’s been snowing for four hours solid now. Snowing. Not ‘flurries’ by anyone’s imagination… Cars are buried outside, the road is covered over thickly and it’s still coming down strong.

That makes something like 5 times now in the space of a couple of years. No-one else who uses a bike at work gets them! WTF is with my bike? I need a super armoured tyre or something, or a kevlar lining to my current tyres.

The first episode, ‘Did God Create the Universe’, right at the end you explain how time stopped (or ceased to exist) just before the Big Bang where all matter and energy was infinitesimally small. You said, you’ve found something that doesn’t have a cause because there was no time for that cause.

I realize you say this all from a personal perspective, mind you.

So my questions are these:

• What -did- cause the Big Bang?
• Where did the infinitesimally small point from which the Big Bang emanated, come from? What created it?

None of the evidence presented negates God. Only that it provides a scientific basis that God can be removed from. Not that I’m religious, I’m not.

Given that our banks have had to bail out err, well nearly everyone, and we got screwed over just as badly if not worse than you, forgive us if we think we can offer a bit of financial advice to you. Don’t get caught up in your german love affair, we know how well that turned out the last time – rappelez-vous de Vichy?

At least, that’s what the movies portray. So the question remains, why? Why not hang the phone up? Their fingerprints would already be on it, assuming they’re not wearing gloves, so what’s the big deal about hanging the phone up?

So I ask the question, if you (we) don’t know how to win it, and really honestly don’t know what we’re doing it for now (since Osama is dead), why the hell are we there?

Surely we’re not there to actually turn Afghanistan into an outpost of ‘the West’, are we? What’s there? Unruly tribes who take every opportunity to kill each other, neverendingly? The emeralds (and there’s lots, apparently)? Some other resource we desperately need (err, no)?

Come on governments, get our boys out of there. We don’t need to be wasting yet more money in a conflict no-one wants to fight and certainly no-one is going to win. The moment we leave there’ll be a civil war, the Taliban will come roaring back and the country will be at square one again.

What makes it even worse, at least in my eyes, is that we’re propping up a despot who can’t protect his own family let alone his own people. And all of Karzai’s posturing around with that silly multi-coloured rug on his back just makes me retch, the man thinks he’s annointed by God or something.

It doesn’t work.

A week or two ago I was called at 11am, 2pm, 7pm, and when I picked up, there was just static and a second or two later they hung up (I think it was a computer doing the calling).

Then the next day, again at 11am, 2pm and 7pm, some marketing company called me, asking me to participate in some questionaire. So clearly, the do not call list means nothing. Why do we bother having it, or funding it, if it doesn’t work as designed?

Also, when they call and I don’t answer, or I’m not in, the number that is recorded by 1471 is 00000 000 000 – isn’t that illegal in some fashion? The week before that I had a call from someone in the UK from an area code that was ‘reserved’ and not in use.

Not sure why it’s plastered across every news site in the world, because they’ve known this for years. Neutrinos are detected just before the light is detected from a supernova, thus are faster than light.

Anything else that their experiment indicates other than something we already know?

But, then when you see it night after night, and one the subsequent nights, it’s youths smashing shops and nicking what they can, rather than rioting/protesting, then it’s not about that young man’s death. He had a gun by the way, and though evidence points to the fact he didn’t shoot it, he was waving it around.

Now it’s just thugs wanting to see the world burn.

If, as some say, it’s a response to the high unemployment rate (yada yada), then smashing shops to bits won’t help, will it? Any chance of jobs go down the drain then. Not to mention that these muppets are filming themselves on their mobile phones and posting them to youtube/facebook. Nice one: get a criminal record and then definitely no-one will employ you.

Political change does not emanate from a protester’s placard. Or, in this case, from a thieving thug’s brick.

Most people here in the UK would agree that these idiots aren’t helping the situation at all, and I think the vast silent majority (at least from my conversations with friends and acquaintances) would want strict punishments meted out.

Bad decision for us race fans, especially those of us who don’t have Sky! Like me.

The reason I say bad decision, is because the BBC is keeping worldwide services, yet dropping services for those of us who actually -pay- for the BBC! We pay the license fee here in the UK, so what do we care about services for people across the world? I doubt very much Egyptians care for Brits, and would mind paying for a radio/TV service for us, or the Burmese, or the Indonesians, etc.,

Of all the sports they could drop the ball on, it’s the one I happen to watch. The only one! Figures…
