Finally, after many years, I’m getting this theme (Dog Blog) updated!

Talk about bringing it from the stone age, this was one of my first wordpress themes, so it’s a little old. It was for a site called The Snood Factory but now the blog section appears to have been removed. Not sure if Jan kept up with it or not.

Now updated for WP 3.0 it’s looking much better thankfully. Just finishing it up right now and it will get updated for a new download. You can see it by looking for the theme switcher near the bottom of the post and clicking on ‘Dog Blog’ – it sets the theme for 10 minutes (currently no way to override it except by changing the theme back to GlassFlare).

This blog has moved to it and I am slowly moving all my others over to it. Easy to do of course, as usual with WordPress, painless and just a couple of buttons to press. There don’t seem to be any theme issues so far, but I haven’t really begun testing a lot of mine yet.

We just had the new WP 2.6 come out (fairly) recently. It changed a little bit from the previous version but wasn’t difficult to get used to. Now we have WP 2.7 coming out, based on the Crazyhorse development prototype (interesting naming there, WP), which alters the navigation pushing it to the left side from the top.

What the … How could you do this to us WP? Ok maybe I’m over-reacting but I kinda liked the top navigation and I’m pretty sure a lot of others did too. I don’t like the collapsible-style menu systems on the left side, they remind me of navigation in the 1990′s on the early websites.

We have a little while though, it won’t be released for another month or so (Nov 2008). Time to get used to the idea, less of a shock. If you want to take part in their survey, voice your opinion!

I finally got around to finishing off the News Print wordpress theme work I had been doing for a week or two now. This is the update to the theme, including the two/three main column switching, and the column widths are now all percentage based so that the theme appears the same at most widths/screen sizes.

It’s working fully on Balanced News Blog, but I am going to add one or two more little bits to it over the next week or so.

Thanks to everyone who has made suggestions over the past few months, and even those who have bugged me to add more features. If you want more, now is the time to suggest them as I will be keeping up to date on it.
