And in the world of the insanely sublime, muslims are objecting to selling alcohol at the checkout:
Islamic workers at Sainsbury’s who object to alcohol on religious grounds are told to raise their hands when encountering any drink at their till so that a colleague can temporarily take their place or scan items for them.
How ridiculous is that?
But, some Islamic scholars do believe that it is:
Sainsbury’s said this weekend it was keen to accommodate the religious beliefs of all staff but some Islamic scholars condemned the practice, saying Muslims who refused to sell alcohol were reneging on their agreements with the store.
Let me ask a question of those that object: are you objecting to selling pork products?
What’s next, I wonder? Products made by wholly-owned Christian corporations? What about products made by Jewish companies, I just know that the Muslims love Jews, so that has to be coming soon…
And here’s another question: what about a consumer at the store, can they object to being served by a Muslim? How would that go down, I ask you?

object to being served by a Muslim Oh, that would be sweet!
