After working on one or two projects recently I have found time to update one of my old themes. This is a small two column theme with the sidebar on the right side.

The background is static (a car, hence the name) and it must have been the third or fourth theme I made. It is fairly straightforward, easy to use, no special post ordering, no theme options.

Oh and it’s called Drive, of course.

I have had a request from someone to take my OpenAir WP theme to Drupal and so over the past week I have been messing around with it. Although I think that Drupal is a bit more complex than WordPress for theming purposes, and I am far more comfortable with WP, I think I could get used to it and maybe port a few more themes over.

One of the things I’ve noticed is that the Drupal has the administration theme built in to the overall theme package, if you want it. Not a good thing though, from my perspective. The themes I’ve been examining to find out how they did it, have all the css mixed in and not in what I would call order. Picky I know, but I like the page structure to come first, then the bits and pieces like text, links etc.,

Should be finished soon anyway, and I’ve been testing it on testblog6.

This has been something I’ve been working on for the past week or two on and off. After updating the OpenAir theme to let it have a left or right sidebar with the options in the admin panel backend of WP, I decided to alter the News Print theme (version 2, not the version 3 yet). This was decidedly more complicated but all in all, just more coding more than anything.

So the release page – News Print v2.0 WordPress Theme – has been updated with the new link, the WP Codex has been updated, and the WordPress forum thread updated too.

This blog is going through a few updates. This is because I’ve finally decided to get off my arse and finish off the theme, and for that matter, to fully integrate the bbpress installation that sites underneath it. So it will be a combined wordpress/bbpress theme, which can be downloaded as one, or separately. When I’m done I’ll post it.

I was thinking of naming the theme after the painting, The Son of Man. Good idea?
