SEO work can be performed by people who think that altering the META tags in a web page’s header are all that is necessary. That of course, is pitifully useless (not to mention very lazy of the SEO ‘expert’).
I have had the chance to work on a Joomla site (OilUK) in the past couple of months and it has been interesting, not least because it gives me a chance to work on a blog platform other than WordPress (which I am more used to) but because it also shows me the differences and similarities of working with SEO work on both platforms.
One of the things I have noticed is that it is fairly straightforward (if you know how) to rise higher in Google’s search results if you manipulate the right elements on a webpage. Examples of this: forming oils (which is at position 3, from one in the many hundreds), press lubricants (positions 1 & 2, from one in the many hundreds), compressor oils, gas engine oils, rust preventatives, white oils, and marine oils. These have all increase substantially, with the remaining keywords coming up rapidly in the search results - they should all be on the first page within days.
